DIY Faux Zinc Letters

I have always admired these zinc letters from Anthropologie.
I was recently at the craft store when I saw these cardboard letters and knew I could make some myself!

Paint the letters with a silver spray paint. I used Krylon's Brushed Metallic spray paint in "Satin Brushed Nickle" found at Michaels. Let the coat dry and hang them wherever you like!

These will be going in my new kitchen two weeks from tomorrow!

Summer style.

It seems like every time I get dressed in the morning I think that I have nothing to wear. I always wear the same things because they are my favorite pieces. I realized that I have so many clothes in my closet that I don't wear that are just as cute!
Not sure if I could do a 30 for 30 challenge just yet, but I have challenged myself to get more creative with my outfits and accessories, wear more of my closet, and try not to get stuck in a rut and wear the same things!

Here are my inspiration pieces:

Mix and match patterns

So put together!

I am a sucker for anything embroidered

Sunburst

I am moving into my apartment in two weeks and all I can think about is how to decorate it!
For the longest time I have loved sunburst mirrors. (who doesn't??) After looking on Pinterest, I found some great DIY inspiration to make my own!

Awesome paint stick mirror

Great idea using branches

Wow! Sunburst mirror made with paper towels

This last one is my favorite and the tutorial I used! Here is the tutorial from Third Floor Design Studio
For my mirror, I only used bamboo skewers instead of wooden dowels.

Here is the finished product:

Also, for the color, I used Rustoeum Universal Metallic spray paint in “Oil Rubbed Bronze.”
I will be sure to share pictures once I hang it in my apartment!

I'm a bad blogger.

I am. It's true.
When I started this blog I thought I would write regularly....but that didn't happen.
School and work caught up to me and I just let the blog go.
I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I have decided to get back into blogging and post regularly!

I have challenged myself to be more crafty, share recipes, and take more pictures.
I can't wait to share!
